Headache/Migraine

Migraine is a type of headache that tends to recur and causes moderate to severe pain, often described as throbbing or pulsing, usually on one side of the head. Attacks can last from a few hours to several days and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and heightened sensitivity to light and sound. Some people experience an "aura" — visual disturbances or other sensory changes — before the headache begins. Migraines can be triggered by factors such as stress, hormonal changes, certain foods, lack of sleep, or environmental factors, and treatment focuses on both managing acute attacks and reducing their frequency.

Neuropathy

Neuropathy refers to a range of conditions caused by damage or dysfunction of the nerves, which can occur at any location in the body. It may affect a single nerve or multiple nerves throughout the body, and symptoms often include numbness, tingling, burning sensations, weakness, or pain in the affected areas — commonly the hands and feet. Neuropathy can result from various causes, including diabetes, infections, traumatic injuries, autoimmune diseases, or exposure to toxins. Diagnosis typically involves a detailed nerve examination, and treatment aims to address the underlying cause while managing symptoms.

Dementia

Dementia is a syndrome, usually chronic or progressive in nature, characterized by a decline in cognitive function beyond what is expected from normal aging. It affects memory, thinking, orientation, comprehension, calculation, learning capacity, language, and judgment. While consciousness is not affected, dementia can significantly impact a person's ability to perform everyday activities and often affects emotional control, social behavior, and motivation as well. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause, though dementia can result from several other conditions affecting the brain.

Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain becomes disturbed, causing seizures. It may occur as a result of an abnormal brain structure, genetic factors, or an unknown cause, and seizures can vary widely from brief lapses in attention to prolonged convulsions. Epilepsy can develop at any age and may be triggered by various factors, including lack of sleep, stress, or missed medication in those already diagnosed. Diagnosis typically involves a detailed medical history, neurological examination, and tests such as an EEG, with treatment focused on seizure control through medication and, in some cases, other interventions.
